Known as an engaging and powerful speaker, his keynotes center on workplace communication and self-presentation. He also coaches small groups in the areas of presentation, communication and facilitation skills at companies such as CitiFinancial, NBC Universal, Nissan, Taco Bell and Transamerica.

Originally trained as a classical actor in New York, Tom received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from The Juilliard School, Drama Division. Before founding Essential Communications, he was a professional actor for more than twenty years, appearing in over one hundred plays, films and episodes of television. On the other side of the footlights, stage productions under his direction garnered thirteen theater critics' awards, including five for him as Best Director.

Tom is Past President of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Society of Training and Development. He lives in Sherman Oaks, California, with his two daughters.
