    3-time NFL Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion with the San Francisco 49ers, Russ was drafted in the first round of the 1975 NFL Draft by the New England>Patriots, the same year he was named Rookie of the Year.

    A premier Tight End of the 1970's and 1980's, Russ has experienced a 28 year career in broadcasting and entrepreneurship of various businesses across the United States (real estate, retail and communications industries).

    Russ was appointed to the Governor's cabinet for the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. He also obtained his commercial pilot license in aircraft and developed Hawaii's civilian air ambulance service, which has been running for 27 years.

    A University of Oregon graduate, Russ is a national spokesman for various organizations including, United Way and National Spinal Cord Injury Foundation.

    He serves on the Board of Directors for Matthews Prostate Cancer Research Foundation and Aloha United Way - Hawaii. Russ has also been involved with other numerous charities such as, Shriner's Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, The Special Olympics and The Boys & Girls Club.

    In addition to his successful ventures after retiring from football, Russ has been nominated for the NFL Hall of Fame.
