    Rod is an Entrepreneur, Professional Keynote Speaker and Sales Coach. Rising from the south side of Chicago to the Boardrooms of Fortune 500 Companies, Rod has discovered a fresh, efficient and effective system to selling throughout his journey. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Economics and having taught Macroeconomics at the University of Colorado, Rod has a passion for speaking and developing people.

    Rod’s speaking career began at the tender age of 10. He has been a perpetual student of Sales and Leadership his entire life with experience that ranges from Start-ups to Global companies in various industries. At the age of 30, Rod was the youngest Officer of the 150 year old Fortune 500 financial conglomerate Toronto Dominion, the 5th largest bank in North America. He was a sales pioneer for TD Waterhouse US, converting a multi-million dollar reactive service organization into a billion dollar sales force.

    Rod was then asked to lead the worst performing sales division in the company - a $40 Billion Business Unit with 65 offices in 30 states. Throughout this experience Rod made a startling discovery - there is no proven correlation between personality and sales productivity. Rod took a calculated risk by instigating a paradigm shift by executing an innovative behavioral sales system that focused on the 21 proven behaviors to impact sales productivity - it worked! Rod's team of 5 Regional VPs, 65 Managers, and 260 Sales Reps became one of the most efficient/effective sales divisions in the company. In 12 months the division led the firm in:

    • Assets under Management - $60 Billion Up 50%
    • Productivity/Rep Up 187%
    • Employee and Customer Satisfaction Up 68%

    To celebrate the achievements - Rod decided to devote his time to assisting other sales organizations.  By age 35, as an entrepreneur, Rod founded the McKinnis Consulting Group, a rapidly growing company which is changing the sales paradigm by implementing his behavior based system into prominent sales cultures in the United States and Europe. He was recently named the Founder for Phoenix Chapter of the non-profit National Sales Network. Rod has received numerous awards throughout his career. However, his most precious achievement is being a husband to his college sweetheart for 12 years and a father to their two sons.
