Mark is an author, investor, Internet veteran, and marketing expert who currently advises companies on how to "Act Fast, Act Smart" for success in today's fast-paced business world. His entertaining, highly anecdotal presentations help companies transform into economic gazelles.

Mark is founder and managing partner of an angel fund that invests in and advises technology start-ups. Previously, he served as president/CEO of Beyond.com, Vice President of marketing at Amazon.com (during its hypergrowth period) and has held executive positions at Kraft Foods, Dreyer's/Edy's Ice Cream and Cinnabon World Famous Cinnamon Rolls.

Today, Mark invests and advises start-ups through an angel investment fund and is one of Silicon Valley's leading Internet experts. He frequently speaks to business and universities audiences across the US. A popular media spokesperson on business issues, Mark publishes a popular monthly e-newsletter of "10-Second Tips" that helps companies manage issues such as email, meetings and hiring. He serves on the boards of ecfood.com, a company recently cited as "Best of the Web" by Forbes.com, MultiDigit, Inc, a company pioneering new input methods for handheld devices, and Conservation International, a group dedicated to preserving the earth's biodiversity via economics and science.
