Dr. Covey is the recipient of the Thomas More College Medallion for continuing service to humanity and has been awarded four honorary doctorate degrees. Other awards given Dr. Covey include the Sikh's 1998 International Man of Peace Award, the 1994 International Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Inc Magazine's Services Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and, in 1996, the National Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership. He has also recently been recognized as one of Time Magazine's 25 most influential Americans and one of Sales and Marketing Management's top 25 power brokers. Dr. Covey is currently serving on the board of directors for the Points of Light Foundation. Dr. Covey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, his MBA from Harvard and completed his doctorate at Brigham Young University. While at Brigham Young University, he served as assistant to the president and was also a professor of business management and organizational behavior. Dr. Covey's organizational legacy to the world is Covey Leadership Center. On May 30, 1997, a merger with Franklin Quest created the new Franklin Covey Company with over 4,300 employees and $500 million in annual revenue. Dr. Covey's vision of empowering organizations to implement principle-centered leadership in their cultures will continue to be an important focus of the Franklin Covey Company. |
