The goal of this training is to engage participants in various individual and group interactive experiences that will increase their knowledge, involvement, and commitment to establishing and maintaining a winning team. Participants will learn effective and necessary skills to developing a winning team that exhibits understanding, mutual respect, support, and positive growth and development. Participants also will identify, describe, and evaluate various strategies and characteristics that are essential to serving on a winning team.
CREATING SAFE, HEALTHY, AND PRODUCTIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENTS
The goal of this training is to provide participants with factual and relevant information that will help them better understand the value and importance of their contribution and commitment to providing quality services. This training also will increase participantsí awareness regarding how their attitude and behavior can serve as a model for establishing and maintaining positive and effective relations with co-workers and customers who are in need of support and assistance. Equally as important, this activity will materials that participants can immediately begin using to reinforce their commitment to helping their co-workers and customers create and maintain a lifestyle and working environment that is safe, healthy, supportive, and productive.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The goal of this training is to engage participants in a series of individual and group interactive experiences, while increasing their knowledge, skills, and commitment to establishing working relations and a working culture that will respect and support diversity. At the same time, this training will provide information and materials to help participants identify and begin implementing action steps that will create a culture that is culturally competent and culturally sensitive.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
The goal of this training is to increase participants understanding of the various levels and types of conflict, reasons why conflicts occur, and effective strategies and techniques to resolve and prevent conflicts.
DEALING WITH THE ANGRY PUBLIC
The goal of this training is to increase participantsí awareness and understanding regarding effective methods and strategies that can be utilized when dealing with an angry customer. This training also will help improve participantsí ability to better understand and respond to negative customer responses and other potentially hostile situations. Participants will learn effective ways to communicate with an angry customer before their anger escalates. Effective problem-solving skills also will be highlighted.
LEADERS WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The goal of this training is to increase participantsí awareness and understanding regarding specific attitudes, behaviors, and skills that are necessary to serve as a responsible and productive leader. This activity also will identify and examine some common steps and qualities required to serving as a competent leader. Strategies to strengthening oneís character, leadership, supervisory, and problem solving skills will be explored.
VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE
The goal of this training is to equip participants with specific knowledge and skills that will increase their understanding and ability to reduce and prevent violence in their workplace. This experiential training also will provide participants with realistic strategies, appropriate problem-solving methods, and suggestions that will result in effective communication, while establishing win-win relationships. Participants will identify and discuss various qualities of a healthy working environment. Participants also will identify short and long-term strategies and recommendations that can help create a working climate that will be safe and productive.
DEVELOPING COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY-BASED PARTNERSHIPS
The goal of this training is to increase participants awareness of the various levels, steps, and stages of developing a comprehensive partnership. This training also will discuss the shared decisions that enhances the implementation of all agreed upon goals and objectives. Participants will be introduced to a problem-solving process related to identifying, implementing, and evaluating the goals of a partnership that works. Participants will engage in an experiential exercise to develop and present a proposed community collaborative partnership.
DEVELOPING COMMUNITY / SCHOOL-BASED COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS
The goal of this training is to increase participants awareness of the various levels and stages of developing a comprehensive collaborative partnership, and the shared decisions that enhances the implementation of all agreed upon goals. This training also will help participants better understand the problem-solving process related to identifying, implementing, and evaluating the goals and objectives of a partnership. Participants will develop and present a proposed community / school-based collaborative partnership.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN THE HELPING PROFESSION
The goal of this training is to equip participants with specific characteristics, strategies, and experiential exercises to increase their ability to better understand what is being said to them, and how best to respond that will result in mutual respect, collaboration, and cooperation. Helping participants understand the value and importance of their role and responsibilities to creating a climate that supports cooperation and effective communication is highlighted throughout this training.
